Biography
Dr. Guanyu Cai (蔡冠宇) holds a Ph.D. from Chimie ParisTech – PSL University and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institut de Recherche de Chimie Paris (IRCP, UMR 8247), CNRS affiliated. His research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of optical materials, persistent luminescence, nanothermometry, optical data storage, and the integration of AI-assisted workflows in experimental science.
AI‑Assisted Research Leadership
Dr. Cai leads the APEX Stent Project — an interdisciplinary initiative applying AI to accelerate biodegradable coronary stent research. His leadership encompasses:
- Designing and managing comprehensive research databases for experimental metadata, SEM/TEM images, and EDS maps.
- Developing AI pipelines for automated image analysis (local YOLO models), corrosion/calcification detection and diagnostic annotation.
- Integrating multi‑AI‑agent workflows to assist in manuscript drafting, experimental planning, and data interpretation.
- Coordinating cross‑disciplinary collaboration between materials scientists, biomedical engineers, and clinical researchers.
